Natalia Kills is not your average pop star. In 2011, she painted dance floors around the world pitch black—bringing her oft-described “dark pop” on the road while opening for Perry on her colorful California Dreams tour. The pint-sized British provocateur ignited blogger buzz this summer with her explosive debut album, Perfectionist, and with twisted albeit perpetually glamorous music videos (highlights include her drowning in a box of money while whipping her tight ponytail and attending an Alice in Wonderland-on-acid-dinner party before being beheaded).

Next up, Kills will once again give them something to blog about with a video (which she describes as “Death by Milk”) for her new single, Kill My Boyfriend. ELLE chatted with the salacious songstress who confirmed all of our suspicions. Natalia Kills is featured amazingly epic 3 times on the  Top 50 Singles of 2011 made up by Pop Is A Blood Sport Blog. Kill My Boyfriend made it up to place 22, Free to 21 and at highest range is Wonderland listed on place 4.

Wonderland: The dark princess of pop has done it again. After the great debut that was “Mirrors,” Miss Kills is back at it (with an ax). “Wonderland” is a grim slice of pop that sees Kills venturing into the lore of fairy tales, and the unreal fantasy to them. “I don’t believe in fairy tales, but I believe in you and me. Take me to wonderland,” she sings in the song’s chorus. The grim reality of the lyrics that Kills sing are like a grown up telling a child that Santa Claus does not exist. It’s grim, but’s here. And, like always, she kills it.

It’s kinda hard to believe that another killer year has ended, but the Holiday time brings us together and offers the perfect time to take a look back what happened and reflect the good times, such as the bad – which we learned off.
